BTVI Donates to Cancer Society

 The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) recently made a donation to the Cancer Society of The Bahamas to aid in the organization’s efforts to help those fighting the disease. For the past 10 years BTVI has held its Pink Awareness Bake Sale with all proceeds being donated to cancer awareness support groups in the nation. 

BTVI Holds First Virtual Graduation

The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) recently held its first virtual graduation following three semesters of online learning. A total of 197 students graduated this year from the institution’s New Providence, Grand Bahama – and for the first time – Andros campus.

BTVI Alum Credits Study Abroad as ‘Game Changer’

Reminiscing on his journey, Gerrard who completed an Advanced Diploma in Computer Systems and Technology course at Fanshawe College in December 2019, acknowledged that BTVI was a stepping stone to where he is today. In 2014, he was one of five BTVI students afforded the opportunity to participate in the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP), receiving the opportunity to study in Canada.

Certified Technical Training Begins on Moore’s Island

Facilitated by the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) and Valencia College in Florida, the first phase of the training requires 80 contact hours over a 20-day period. There are other trade-specific components of the NCCER program available to earn certification in electrical, plumbing, carpentry and other areas, eventually with some face-to-face elements

This 2019 carpentry graduate of the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) is putting all she has learned to use. Christabelle has been an apprentice at Caso Kitchen & Design since September 2020 and is excited about gaining more knowledge and experience.

BTVI Embraces Online Reality

The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute has adapted to the use of technology to deliver content during the COVID-19 crisis with the intent of  later having staggered boot camps, while enforcing social distancing protocols.
